Marlon McKenney

Marlon McKenney is an African-American artist, author, and creative director based in San Francisco. He founded Conscious Culture Publishing in 2017 to produce captivating African historical fiction and diverse multicultural content. Marlon utilizes 3D technology to create intricate illustrations and animations that bring African histories, mythologies, and legends to life. Through his art, Marlon advocates for representation and celebration of diverse cultures, leaving a strong impact on illustration and storytelling.

Spencer Whitney

Spencer Whitney is an African-American journalist and photographer based in Oakland, currently serving as the Digital Editor for KQED News. He has previously held editorial positions at the Oakland Post and San Francisco Chronicle. Spencer completed his undergraduate studies at Howard University and earned his Masters in Journalism from UC Berkeley.

Imhotep was also known as a powerful priest and magician. He learned and developed a mastery of energy and a supreme connection to the universe through rigorous training and studying as a scribe. Throughout Egypt's New Kingdom, Imhotep was celebrated as a medical demigod personifying wisdom and education.

The pyramid of Djoser, sometimes called the Step Pyramid of Djoser, is an archaeological site in the Saqqara necropolis, Egypt, northwest of the ruins of Memphis. The 6-tier, 4-sided structure is the earliest colossal stone building in Egypt.

Pharoah Djoser

Pharoah Djoser was the second king of the 3rd dynasty of ancient Egypt. He was known for saving Egypt from a seven-year famine and constructing the Step Pyramid of Saqqara. His 19-year reign was marked by significant technological innovation with the help of his trusted advisor, Imhotep. During Djoser's reign, Egypt thrived in architecture and science and became a becon of knowledge to the entire world.
